Who wants a rock?

"Danger" is my middle name!

I know we have posted lots of pictures and videos lately; but you will have to wait until after Christmas for more of a written update. So for now, here is our daredevil of a child.

Hudson meets Santa for the 1st time

Hudson finally met his match in terms of "jollyness." Hudson looks a little out of it in this picture; he has had a fever the past couple of days, but we decided to go ahead and get his picture taken before it was too late.

Hudson the Soccer Player

This has been Daddy's proudest moment so far. (Sorry it's short, you really have to have the camcorder in hand at all times)

All Aboard, Let's Party!

Here are a few pictures from Hudson's 1st Birthday Party. We had a blast. We feel truly blessed to be able to celebrate this special occasion with so many friends and family. A teacher at work made the sheet cake for me and I did the rest. I had a blast decorating the cake and was very pleased with how it turned out. We decorated a couple car seat boxes so the kiddos could crawl through. Apparently it's never too early to enjoy the presents. Friends

Hopefully we'll get some pictures of Hudson eating some cake (ours didn't turn out too good, but I'm sure someone else turned out great). Surprisingly, he didn't make a big mess...he took his time savouring every bite.

Our boy in now ONE!!!!

This day last year Hudson entered into our lives. We have been so blessed through the addition to our family. He is so energetic and full of live. God has been teaching us so many things in our parenting journey. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUDSON. Here are some pictures of the birthday boy. We will be having a party for him this Saturday, so we will post more pictures after.

Dinner always tastes better with a hat on! Hudson loves to wear his "hat". If you tell him to put on his hat, he will look around until he finds it and then he will put it on his head. Simply irresistable!

Hud loves the park. In fact, whenever it is time to leave the waterworks begin. We love that he enjoys the outdoors and I hope that his desire to be outside will never change.

Thanksgiving

Hudson spent his first Thanksgiving in The Woodlands. We had a great time relaxing and hanging out with family (we missed those that weren't able to make it this year). Hudson had a blast hanging out with some of the older kids, he definitely wants to be one of the big kids - mom and dad just aren't quite ready for that yet! Here are a few pictures from our holiday week.

Hudson and his Uncle Chris

Halloween

We never posted any of the pictures...so here they are (better late than never). We spent most of our trick or treating time walking very very slowly. Hudson decided that he did not want to be in his stroller.

Look, Hudson's Delirious!

We wanted to share with you one of our favorite moods that Hudson gets in...delirium! It's a little too easy to make him laugh during these times. He seems like such a little boy most days, but in instances like these, he reminds us he's still our baby.

P.S. Take note of the awesome move he does about 5/6 of the way through. It's a leg-kicker toward the chest with synchronized arm flails. (Thanks to Audrey for pointing such hilarity out.)

P.P.S. Also take note of the last laugh, it's a paralyzer! Dad's favorite type of Hudson laugh.

Goal Accomplished!!!!

So, my 1/2 marathon is over! Everything went really well. God provided us with unbelievable weather, a little warm towards the end but nothing to complain about. I ended up running the whole thing in 1 hour 57 minutes and 33 seconds.

We shall see if there are any more 1/2's in my future....the last few miles were tough and I was wondering what made me sign up, but the sense of accomplishment is great. I am not one that generally sets goals, so for me to set a goal and achieve it is a big deal. Christian has been so encouraging through this whole process and even brought Hudson to help cheer me on today. Now, I think I will go take a nap (that is if Hudson doesn't wake up for a while!)

Fall Festival at the Dallas Arboretum

This past weekend we went to the Dallas Arboretum. My mom was in town and she wanted to see Hudson in his Halloween costume, so we thought we would bring it with us and get some pictures of him in the pumpkins. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend - one of those weekends where you can't help but thank God for all that He has created- great friends, great family, beautiful weather and so much more.

Baby Dedication

On Saturday we had Hudson's baby dedication. We had a great time. Josh (one of our pastors) talked from Deut. 6 about how we are to be the ones that teach our children about the Lord. It is a long and always changing task, one that can bring much frustration and incredible amounts of joy. This is a task that scares me to death, but I am comforted by the fact that 1. that the Holy Spirit lives within me and that 2. We are surrounded by people that will challenge and encourage us through this process. Thanks to all that are on this journey with us, we love you and appreciate you.

Here are a few pictures from the day

Last Week

Last week was a fantastic week. For me (Erin), the week was filled with many "accomplishments." On Thursday we went and saw "The Lion King". If you ever have a chance to see it, the show is a must see. This was something that I have wanted to do since I first heard of it coming out, so you can imagine how excited I was. I have to admit that I felt like a kid in a candy store, the night was unbelievable.

And then on Saturday I ran a 15k race around White Rock Lake. I am running a 1/2 marathon on Nov. 4th so I am running out of training time. The race went great. This was the first time I have ever run a race at this distance.

Hudson is walking more and more each day. He loves to laugh when other people are laughing. Right now some of his great skills include:
~ clapping and dancing on cue
~climbing (on anything)
~crawling at lightening speed
~talking in his own language - I wish I could understand him, I am fascinated by his thought processes

Well, I guess that is about it for now. i will post some new pictures soon.

10 months old!!!

Wow, I can't believe how big our baby is getting. He is turning in to quite the performer. This week he is constantly dancing (I think his dad is giving him lessons when I'm not home). As soon as the music turns on he can't help but shake his groove thing. We are still working on walking, but he is much faster at crawling. Here are a few pictures from this week.

HAPPY 10 MONTHS!!!!

Update

Well, this update doesn't have any new pictures but I will post some soon. Everything has been very crazy the past couple of weeks; full of man ups and downs. Regardless of the roller coaster ride, God has been incredibly gracious to us. Christian and I have had some incredible conversations between us and with several other people. There is just something about difficult situations that causes the depth of community to increase (I long for deep relationships).

As for school....school is going great so far. I am excited about my classes and the opportunities that the Lord will place before me. Like I said, I am enjoying school, but I am definitely missing being home with Hudson. He is truly a joy to be around - but he is in excellent care throughout the day. Hudson went to the dr. today for his 9 month check-up ( I can't believe he is 9 months). He weighs 20lbs 5oz (50%) and I can't remember his exact height right now, but he is in the 75% - not that those numbers mean a whole lot. It is just encouraging to me because sometimes I feel like he is abnormally big; but it's just because a lot of our friends have tiny kiddos. He is cruising around everywhere and he loves to read books. I'll post some pictures soon, you won't believe how much bigger he is. Well, I guess that's about all the updating for now.

Pics from June

Thanks to my cousin Kim, we have these amazing pictures of Hudson. She took these towards the beginning of June....now he has 4 more teeth showing on the top (my how they grow!)
