Spring Break in review

It has been a fantastic week! We had some fantastic family time, I'm sad that I will be going back to work tomorrow. However, I am one week closer to summer! Hudson and I started off the week by going to The Woodlands to visit my parents and some friends that have come back to the States to have their baby girl before they return overseas. I also got to spend some time with my cousin Kim. Those couple days were a great time of conversation and hang out, sweet times!

Other than that, we spent most of the time running around the Richardson area. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we drank up as much time outside as possible. God is so great! Friday Hudson and I spent the morning at the Arboretum with Suzanne and her sweet girl Maggie. The tulips were AMAZING!

Hudson and I enjoyed the Arboretum so much on Friday that we went back again Saturday with Dad and our friends James and Audrey.

Last night we went to a wedding at Lee Park in Downtown Dallas. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. We are so excited for Laura and Chris, Laura was a stunning bride (I wish I had pics, but I didn't bring our camera). However, we took a picture before we left.

This morning we went to church and then headed over to Grandken and Granmommy's for lunch and hang out time. What a perfect week!

Praise God for a great family, great friends and His beautiful creation!

New week, new rule......

"Hudson, you cannot put food in your eye."

Hudson absolutely loves to play with his eyes and now he thinks he can "eat" with his eyes.

10 year ago:
I was a jr. in High School - that seems sooooo long ago

Things on my "to do" list today:
laundry
babysitting
working out (unfortunately didn't get to happen)
enjoying the beautiful day

What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire?
Give and give
travel the world with family and friends
buy a new house (or a couple in different places around the world)
adopt from overseas

3 of my bad habits:
1. starting a load of laundry and not putting it in the dryer (and not folding it)
2. complaining (this is a hard one for me)
3. sweets and soda

5 jobs I have had:
1. in high school I taught gymnastics at a YMCA
2. worked in a computer lab in college (don't know how considering I don't know much about computers)
3. substitute teacher
4. camp counselor
5. middle school gymnastics teacher (now)

5 things people don't know about me:
1. I used to be a high level gymnast
2. I've had 4 or 5 knee surgeries (see above as to why)
3. I don't like many veggies, but I'm working on it
4. I ran track at A&M for a little while
5. My foot has to be touching Christian when I fall asleep

I don't know who to tag, so if you haven't done it now is your chance.

Captivating thoughts

I'm still reading my book, "Having a Mary Spirit," I know it is taking me awhile to finish but I refuse to give up. The middle got a little slow for me, but it has been picking up in the last few days. Todays chapter was about mind control, this is a huge struggle for me and always has been. I continue to pray that God will help me realize when my thoughts are running away with me and help me get them under control. These words hit me hard today (somewhat paraphrased): Careless thinking is a dangerous habit. For as my thoughts go, so goes my emotions. And as my emotions go, so often goes my faith. If I become confused, then I can become discouraged. When I'm discouraged, then I begin to doubt. If I begin to doubt, my mind becomes distracted and that is just one step away from my heart becoming divided.

For me to be able to see the process and the destruction that can occur it has given me a new sense of urgency to take my thoughts captive. My hope is that now all that I have to do (which is much harder than those words can convey) is to let the word of Christ richly dwell within me (Colossians 3:16)

March Madness in Texas

Dinner time battles

Wiggly Play Center: We went with our Village Mommies group and had an absolute blast. Hudson loved playing on all the climbing gyms and also enjoyed throwing bouncy balls as big as him. As long as there is danger in the air, he is happy boy.

SUPER HUD!!!!
