Hudson's big week

I feel like we now officially have a little boy. He has grown up a ton this past week. He can now get anywhere he wants to go by crawling; sometimes it is more of a hop. He also started pulling himself to a standing position on anything that is within his reach. I will post some pictures of him soon.

I have had a blast hanging out with him this summer.......kids are such a joy!

Hudson's Great Grandmother

Yesterday we had an incredible opportunity! On Monday, my 93 year old Grandmother (who lives in Indiana) called to tell me that she was flying to California on Wed and would have a 1 hour layover at DFW. We decided that Hudson and I would try to meet her there. I got to the airport about 45 minutes before her flight was to land, I had no idea how any of this was going to work. The whole way there I found myself praying that God would do something incredible and that everything would work out for my grandmother to see Hudson for the first time. Once I got there I went to the ticket counter and talked with one of the ladies that was in charge of the First Class checkin. I explained my situation and we talked about Hudson and her Grandniece and then the next thing I knew she handed me a pseudo boarding pass so that I could get past the security check-in. I could not believe it! I waited for Grandma at her gate and was able to greet her as they wheeled her off the plane. Had the check in lady not let me through there would not have been an opportunity for my grandmother and I to get together because we went straight to the gate of her connecting flight and they were already boarding. It was a short visit, but she had plenty of time to hold Hudson as we went all around the airport getting her to her next terminal. I feel truly blessed that Hudson had the opportunity to meet his Great Grandmother.

Security, or not!?!?!

So this is Hudson sleeping...yes, you read correctly, he is sleeping in this picture. We started giving him a blanket to sleep with in preparation for our trip to China this summer. We want him to having something familiar with him when he goes to sleep. However, it seems that almost any time we go in his room to check on him that he has the blanket covering his face or shoved in his mouth. As a parent, it is always a little scary to see this because I am always afraid that he will not be able to breathe. Although I get a little nervous, I am also confident that he will squirm around if he is unable to breathe.....but when I go into his room, I still remove the blanket but when I return later it is always back in his mouth. What a crazy kid! We must say that he constantly makes us laugh.

6 month stats

We went to the Dr. last tuesday for Hudson's 6 month check-up. Here are few things we found out:

~weight = 18lbs 5oz (75%)

~height = 27 1/2 inches (75%)

~head (don't know the measurement) but he was in the 50%

~he was suppose to get 3 shots, but once the doctor found out that we are going to China in July he decided to give him 5 (Hudson was not very happy, but he took them like a champ)

~he loves solids...well, most of the time. He is now eating avocados, brown rice
cereal, sweet potatoes, bananas and we are starting him on some oatmeal today.

~he is almost crawling. He will rock back and forth on all 4's.

~He loves flying, listening to music, reading books and sucking on anything he can find.

Well, I think that is about it for now. I will add some pictures of our time in The Woodlands soon.

Dad's Favorite Picture

This is my favorite photo. He's tough. Check out that gash. Our little hockey player.

Where has the time gone?

I did not post a picture last week, so here is one.

Also, I am officially done with school for this year. I'm so excited to have the next couple months home with my boys. We have several adventures planned. In fact Hud and I are leaving tomorrow to visit some friends in College Station, then we are off to see my parents in The Woodlands (pray for dad because this will be the first time away from our little man). Here are a couple pictures from the weekend.
